Ok towing and Internet sleuths.....there was once upon a time a member named @swatski . He hasn't been active in awhile, but I've tagged him anyway.

He towed his AR190 out west to Powell and Meade from his home in Missouri. I remember it was shortly after he had upgraded his tow vehicle to a Land Cruiser.

I've been searching for that thread for 45min through various versions of Google, this boards search, and anything else I could think of.

Can someone help me find his post about towing out there? He had some info on range and coat and capability I'm looking for.

Any help?!?

Use the advance search feature, enter “Swatski” in the “Post by” field and you’ll see all of his posts. You can narrow the search by adding “land” in the keyword field.

Hell, I started this thread, and it doesn't have the info I'm looking for.

Specifically, I'm looking for a comment he made about towing the 240 at 80mph, and how often he had to stop.

Buddy and I are planning on taking his Ducatis to COTA next March. Going to tow with my Rivian, and it'll take 14 stops to charge to get there. Felt very similar to his experience with the LC and the boat heading out west.

Found this comment......getting closer

Found where he bought it.

Found it.

Search terms were "LC200 Towing Range site:jetboaters.net" entered into Google

Found where he bought it.

I still miss the towing from my Q7 Diesel! I'd get just under 15mpg! Now I get 10mpg with my gas Q7....and the tank is significantly smaller (-20%).

I'm really curious to see how towing with the Rivian works out. "By the numbers" I should be able to make a trip to most of the local lakes and back without having to stop for a charge. That's estimating around 1.3mi/kWh while towing. That would get me right at 100mi range from a 131kWh battery. Of course I can charge to 100 from the house pretty easy, but will likely not do that on the return trip home.

There are fast chargers between all the lakes and the house, so I'm not completely worried, but we'll see how the family dynamics work out for all of it. Initial thoughts are we'll be fine.

I tow my 21ft with the LC and get about the same mileage as swatski (8) through the mountains out here.
I’d say the range is closer to 180 miles though. These things turn on the gas light when you’ve still got 5 gallons in the tank.

COTA in March? Headed to MotoGP?
Yes, yes we are. Plan is to trailer a couple of Ducati's down, then ride them to/from/around the venue. Originally had the plan to just ride the bikes down, but the StreetFighter only gets ~100mi to a tank of fuel and the Monster is wildly uncomfortable after about 3-4hrs in the saddle. It's 8hrs from Buffalo to Louisville, then another 16hrs to Austin from Louisville. I'll drive down to Louisville, then grab a trailer, a buddy, and the bikes, then head south from there. Likely 3 days of driving both directions, plus a couple days at the venue.

We used to go to Indy for GP every year until they stopped attending that venue. Shame really, it had the highest attendance (in numbers) of any race on the series, but because IMS is such a big venue it always looked empty. I think the riders didn't like it either because it's a pancake flat circuit. Last year we were there we (quite literally) ran into Nicky Hayden as he was walking from the team tent to the garage. Super nice guy despite me almost knocking him over and spilling beer everywhere.

I never made it Indy. Got to go to Laguna Seca bank in the day, and to COTA in 23. I think I might have the wife talked into going again in 26 and taking our Ducati as well, we’ll see. Hope to have a second Ducati by then for her to ride herself.

It’s a much shorter trip for me though at 12-13hrs from North AL.

I got into GP the year they left Laguna. One of my favorite tracks. Really Really wish I could have been there to watch Hayden win the championship. I'm from KY, so Hayden was always my go to. Once he passed, I've not really found another good allegiance. Liked Dovisioso for awhile, but he just never really grabbed my heart strings. Marquez always dominated, and Lorenzo felt like a punk in person. Hayden just always seemed to have that "I'm just happy to be here" vibe that resonated with me.

Interesting you're looking into a second Ducati. That's how my friend ended up with two. Bought his '10 Monster 696 brand new, rode it a lot, then met his now wife. She wanted to ride as well so he went and bought the '14 SF848 for himself. She rode the Monster 3 times and dropped it twice. Once at a red light forgetting to put her feet down, and once at a gas station when it got away from her and she couldn't catch it. Minor damage, but she was done with it. HOWEVER, she wouldn't let him ride alone. SO, he called me. We had lived together back in college and have remained good friends since. You see, I had gone through the MSF basic and intermediate rider courses and had bought all my gear in the fall of '05. Plan was to buy a Monster in spring of '06. Met my wife in the winter of 05/06, and decided I was more likely to see her in a bikini if I bought a boat instead of a motorcycle. That's how I ended up here. Anyhow, I've been riding his Monster for the last 12yrs or so and have more miles on it at this point than he does. I keep trying to buy it, but he won't sell it to me. Lived in my garage in IN for about 2yrs even.

When you went to COTA did you fly in and rent a car, drive in? Take the bike? How was the experience?

My wife and I were at Laguna in 2006 for his championship year. Got his autograph and few others while there. Didn’t get Valentino’s though we tried really hard. Hayden was such a cool and down to earth guy.

I actually used to manage a motorcycle dealership back in my younger years. Thought I would always be a Japanese brand sportsbike kind of person. When we started our own business I took a 11-12 year hiatus from motorcycles. When I convinced myself to get another one, I thought I’d try something different and got a Victor Hammer S. Even heavily modified, 125+hp, it didn’t really fill the void. So after trying to chase down an R1M with no luck, I ended up with a ‘22 Streetfighter SP. And now I kind of think I’m a big Ducati fan. Didn’t get rid of the Victory though, and I’m still looking for an affordable R1M and will hopefully find one someday. My wife and daughters took the MSF course 2 years ago. The wife has a BMW 310R, but both my girls are scared to ride on the street so they don’t have anything yet.

We flew into Austin and rented a car last time. But since Ducs get to park right by the gate. I’ll be taking the bike next time. We did the VIP package that included food and drinks for the weekend, so the experience was fantastic and worth every penny. We had air conditioned banquet style rooms with all the food you could want and an open bar. Each room has giant LED walls to watch the races on. Or we could watch from a covered balcony right over pit lane. The COTA Karting go karts on sight are no joke. But you have to reserve your time to ride. They open up reservations about 6-8 weeks out and I highly recommend it. We actually met and hung out with Aleix and Pol Espargaro and watched their kids race go karts on Thursday before the weekend really got started. It was an amazing time.
