Our New Baby, 2024 252SE šŸŽ‰

It really looks great, where did you get that cover for the drain that’s on the outside? The chrome plated one.
Anchor locker fitting

Above is what I purchased, thanks to others who have replaced it already on here! It doesn’t quite fit in the hole so you have to make the hole bigger; whether that’s using a file, dremel, or in my case I used a drill bit (bcuz I have no dremel) and just slowly worked around the hole. No I didn’t drill new holes, I just let the friction do the work going around as the bit ate away the fiberglass. I then sealed all of the exposed fiberglass in the hole with 4200 before I fed the new fitting while using 4200 to seal up the rest of it too. It perfectly fits over the screw holes from the factory one, which you obviously seal those holes up as well!

I used the stick on thin foil/foam insulation to line the anchor locker and now it is a cooler. After doing the stainless drain I just use a fluted plug in it then pull it to drain all that cooler water. I use a river anchor so the locker is no good to me anyway.

That's a fantastic idea - going to need some pictures of that.

Saw your post in @scokill ā€˜s beginning of 18th season post about possibly selling your 230 this weekend.. I guess you are feeling satisfied with the new steed and have put enough hours on it to sell the 230?

Have you been holding out on us with ride reports?

We actually haven’t gotten it out due to weather sadly.. But after our successful break in I’m fairly confident in the new boat for sure. We plan to get out maybe tomorrow and Monday. Wife works weekends until she’s done with school so that kinda sucks! Unless she gets low censused again but not looking like it. As soon as our oldest is done with school for the year it’ll be easier too.

I’ve been in the new boat some though, put the registration numbers on and placed some sleeves over the trailer guides. I really should get some more photos of all the compartments, engines, etc just for reference.

With Memorial weekend coming I knew we would sell the AR230 quickly, we have a ton of interest in it, but I’m fairly certain the guy coming this Saturday will buy it since he’s already got a cashiers check made out. Which I let him know we would meet at the bank before signing over the title to make sure the check is legit with my bank calling his.

Every time we get into the new boat there will be a report I promise 🤣🤣🫔

Good call on the cashiers check! There for a while, and might still be the case, that was the most forged financial document.

One thing I wish I would have got pictures of was the Yamaha web page, well the app, of my boat. All that is gone now.

Too bad about your wife’s work schedule.. anyway you can alter yours to take advantage of low crowds on weekday? Next best thing to being retired!

Looking forward to future outing reports and pics!

Almost 80 degrees today and the water temp was 74! We decided last minute after our oldest got home from school we would take the boat out. The biggest help is the 3 level no wake mode getting anywhere around the dock and getting off/on the trailer. Makes it super easy just to push the button to go faster or slower. Something I forgot to mention before anyways. Used the cruise assist on the lake as well, but I still like to grab the throttles and use em.

The kids got in the water because temp doesn’t matter to them lol. They broke in the stern seats as well. Which aren’t fun trying to put in while on the swim deck since they are buoyant! The wife answered a call while we were cruising at 5200RPMs (30mph). Not sure we could’ve done that very comfortably in the AR230. I didn’t get the decibel meter out to test noise level just because we had limited time on the lake and we planned to enjoy it!

We can’t wait to go again Monday evening and possibly Wednesday evening! Supposed to be mid to upper 80s the next 5 days with no rain forecasted, so maybe we will swim!
