I have a 2015 Yamaha sx210 jet boat and found a white wire labeled N2K in my wiring harness connector behind the helm does anyone know what that is for?

where did you find it? I keep getting a n2k common error on my boat

n2k stands for NMEA 2000. It is a standard bus communication system. Not sure about the 2015 year, but generally this is the bus system that connects the engine ECU, transducer, GPS, etc. to the Connext or tachs. See NMEA 2000 - Wikipedia . So, the wire you found is probably part of that bus system.

If you are getting an n2k error, it usually means either one of the connectors on the bus is loose or has come undone, or there is corrosion or some similar issue. The bus system must have a terminator at each end as well in order to work. For the bus to work, each item on the bus must be connected properly; if one of them is missing or lose, you will get a bus error.
