I want to go to Bimini 2017

Hi @ClemsonTiger, Thanks for the recommendation. I have Navionics on my Iphone but It's not compatible with Garmin GPSMAP 440S. Your boat seemed to be very well equipped, I'll just follow you.
Where are you in Fairfax? We are interested in the Bimini Fling 2017 too. Live in Fairfax Station closed to Chapel Rd & 123.

Myself, and a few jet boaters I met last year, plan to stay ten days 2017. So far, I think we have a total of three boats. Having a flexible schedule is key. If the surf report is bad on day 10, guess we will stay till conditions are better. Anyone interested in extended stay, you are more than welcome to join us. I figure, if you are going to spend the time to tow down and cross, you might as well pretend you are staying forever. Looking forward to the trip. Last year was my first trip. I got to meet a bunch of awesome, funny, friendly, kind, and amazing people. Not one bad story or experience in 2016.

Oh forgot to mention, and I will bring this up again...... I plan on bring my own dive gear this trip. Although, I am experienced, I would like a dive buddy for safety. So if anyone going is a diver, let me know. I can round up two sets of gear. Only thing, you will need to store your half of the gear, on your boat, crossing and back.

My wife and I are not planing on diving, but we dont want any jet boater solo diving ( unless you give me your boat's keys). Rest assured that If you cannot find a buddy, we will be happy to dive with you.

BTW. Are you bringing tanks or are you planing to rent tanks from a local place ?

Neil Watson' Scuba Center has been happy to rent tanks in the past. Unfortunately his office moved to Big Game Club making it a short trip to get tanks.

Bimini Undersea offers Snuba. I think it would be fun to get them to setup somewhere and let our boats meet them. Snuba is diving with a 25' hose instead of a tank. Training is not required and it is considered safe for children.

My family definitely plans to stay longer than 5/6 days this year. We really enjoyed our 12 day stay in 2015 but felt we should follow the group back in 2016 due to the rough conditions.

Their prices seem very reasonable. Thank you for the link.

Right, you should do 2 weeks so i have no excuse but to visit!
Any negotiations yet? You KNOW we all wanna lock our spots!

New to the forum and very excited on the Bimini Fling next year if I can join you guys. Another Chap with props here too. I've being reading the forum, researching, watching youtube vids and dreaming about it for the last 2 years and now I'm ready to go in 2017. If anyone ever decide to go boating on the Potomac next year, let me know. Can't wait for the 2017 dates. Will be traveling with wife and 2 boys (6 & 11).

I'm on the Potomac quite often.
That and Lake Anna.
In fact, did a day on each last Dec :-).

Where are you?

"...and one Marine" (does not fit in any other category. )

@Kevin Sargent good to see you on the board brother!! Thought you might be super-sizing the boat. Good to see you are not.
Giddy up, Bimini '17.

I have a tank, and have a friend that might be willing to lend me his. I do not plan on multiple dives per day, or exceeding 25-30 feet. I plan to dive with no agenda. Last year when snorkeling, the up and down, removed all the fun.....

Thanks for the info Neil.....I am good with 10, 12, 14 days.......as we get closer to the trip date, I will start a form for extended stay. I think we will have 4-8 boats, maybe more.

My tanks are out of hydro  but given the prices that Bruce linked too, there is no point on loading them on the boat anyway.

Thank you for not having an agenda on the diving. As we get closer to April, we will see what souport we get on the scuba, but we will make sure you have a dive buddy. :winkingthumbsup"

yeah, I agree......the awesome thing about your on gear.....you get to jump in anytime you see something cool, your entire stay.

Oh well, I guess we will plan a dive and have an agenda

No doubt. I kind of like my regs too, but tanks is pain to transport.

You mean "dive plan" not agenda right ? LOL

If I can make it I'll bring my wife and I's gear and scuba. Or I'll just freedive for dinner every night. I'll bring my polespears. Hope to make it with y'all this summer depending on schedules.

I'm game for that!

Polespears ? Can I bring my mother in law for practice ?

You can only spear with non trigger guns like a pole spear or Hawaiian sling. And not on scuba. It may be a little extra work to target practice her plus having to bring is bad enough right? Imagine if you miss. You have to ride home with her too. Lol.

@swatski lets do it! I hope I can make it. I want to run the new boat over there bad!
