I want to go to Bimini 2017

First Annual Jetboaters Race to Bimini!!!!
Remove windshields prior to launch.

My bet is on @chris24 as it his natural mode of transit-
With @KevinS right behind him-

I still have images of them going over the horizon in front of me (w/o windshields, of course ;-)

@latitudeadjuster and I were racing all over Lake Anna this wknd.
His machine (212x) has the speed, but I had the tactics and hull to take bigger wake at speed.

So fun!

We are plotting a DC/Potomac adventure for the future-

@DieselCamel, @veedubtek have you noticed the 25 MPH winds forecast for the 1st? The wave height is still forecast for low 2s but I find that hard to believe with the high winds. I believe the 2015 crossing winds peaked around 15. 25 MPH is going to drive some water.

@2nazt, the morning of the 3rd has less than 1 foot seas and less than 10 MPH winds.

Monday the 5th has low winds but a forecast of widely spaced close to 3 footers.

Thanks @Bruce have been watching closely and it has changed a lot. I'm watching the return on Monday as well. Hope it holds off

I'm assuming a 21'er could make the crossing?

Absolutely, many have. It is just a matter of catching good water conditions.

Some forecasts showing wind shift out of the north sun/Mon... Why must this be....:banghead:

It is unfortunate but based on the forecasts, I would make other plans.

I'll decide by mid day tomorrow for my refund from Big Game Club. Becauae Saturday and Sunday look great there lol. But no reason to risk anything if Monday is sketchy. :(

It is common for the weather in Bimini to be nice while the Gulf Stream is rough. Unfortunately the forecast for Monday is trending upward.

It changed a lot since 10am this morning too. Kinda sux. More and more likely I'm staying home and working Monday I guess. My wife is a keeper and said can we just go for Saturday and come home Sunday lol.

And we are calling off. I don't want to go for the day (expensive overnight trip) and Monday is getting worse. Waves are getting closer with a steady high wind. Wouldn't be fun

Yeah. :( We're doing Islamorada now.

We are looking into that. My friends buddy owns a motel with a dock down there. I'll call today for rates and see

I sure hope you do some fishing while you are there !
I would be interested in the accomodations your friend has...

It is Harbor Lights Motel in Islamorada, the owners name is Todd. It comes from his close friend Tony C who recommended the place. I am unsure or our plans we may stay local (still Florida) for us and enjoy it anyways. Would love to get into some spearfishing either way.

This is very light on info but it looks like there will be a new ferry.

Great news, she is not owned by Resorts World so this should be a true ferry service instead of only providing transport to Resorts World.

Looks like she can run at 39 knots!
