Hey all. I was cleaning the inside of my boat this morning and had the boat turned on to pump out all the water from the ski locker. About 5 mins after high temp warning light came on. Should I be worried or once I get the boat in the water it should be ok?

Did you just have the battery on or were the engines running?

Sorry to ask, but you had the water hose running through the engine, right?

Did you shut it down immediately after temp alarm? Never run the engine without having water hooked up.

Next time:
Connect the water hose but leave it off.
start engine
Turn on water hose

when done:
Turn of water flow
Turn off engine

I use one of these at the boat so Icn Do it all from the boat

Yes I turned it off right away. Do you think I’ll be fine on the lake next time out? Or should I go ahead and hook it up to the hose and run it to see if the alarm is cleared?

Pretty sure it will be fine. That is what the high temp alarm is for. The alarm should clear in a few battery switch on / off’s if it has not already.
