Hi,

Having some cavitation/vibration in one engine. When I get her up to 6000 RPM, there is huge vibration and lack of thrust. Pulled off pump housing and found a couple of sticks lodged on. Also found impeller is "dinged" a bit (see epic). Even more interesting, found some "sealant" where the impeller shaft locks in to I think intermediate bearing. It as just laying there - loose when we pulled impeller out. (see pic again - it is the lower item)

Questions

1. Thoughts on what this sealant is? Do I have a bearing issue?
2. It my impeller ok. We filed/smoothed it
3. Do I have to worry about any leakage
4. Anyone ever replace intake grate - seem like they are fairly useless. Small logs can get in there!

Have not done water test yet - so no idea if it fixed the problem!

Tx

Larry

I would say that for the price of a new impellor vs. the cost of an off balance shaft and cavitation issues, just get the new impellor.
