It should but the lines on the 29' are (in my opinion) so much nicer than the 27'.

The addition of the 29' has to affect sales of the 27' - it's kind of a tweener now.

For a boat that big, I would think that would be minimum. And hopefully they've been paying attention to the forums and facebook groups, and put some ballast under the rear transom deck to really snug it down into the water.

I wonder if they'll bother to actually tighten all the bolts, seal the through hulls / seams, and clean out the assembly trash on the boats with a $200k price tag. I do like the addition of the extra connext screen that will delaminate right after your warranty expires though.


Edit- the Crosswave does look pretty interesting though. Curious to see someone through a trolling motor on it.

I usually have all the specs on the new line up but I didn't reach out to them this year....sorry ... Having a grandson that you are primary babysitter for is tiring as hell, then add I came out of retirement to work on Islandjay.com for my brother!

I've never priced 29' boats at this level before, but it SEEMS low in features compared to similar boats....but what is actually a similar boat?

Shocked they haven’t released a surf wave video of their new 29’ surf boat. It’s only a guess but I’m wondering if they had to go that big and skip the 27 foot to have even more ballast and to finally make a good surf wave comparable with Nautique and some of the big players. The wave might not be as good but maybe it is close. I can’t believe they haven’t posted a video yet. They posted a video of the boat, but nothing with the surfing. I need to see that way way before I would consider spending over $200,000. Might also be a new hull design for better surf wave

Just like all Yamahas, if you want a good all around boat where you can surf as an option then it might fit the bill. If you want a surf boat Yamaha is not it.

Honestly, the direct competition for all Yamaha "wake boats" is now the Kyma lineup. And while the 29' has that boat beat on size if you want a surf boat that can also do big water, at that price point, you're better off with a Kyma.

What really disappoints me every year about Yamaha Boats are that, with their bikes and utv's, they are LOCKED in with the customer and their wants and desires. With the boats, it's like, not only don't the read a f'ing thing online, but they seem completely blind to actual user experiences.

Need further proof? Go look at the detail on the Yamaha UTV or ATV or motorcycle website. And then we get the boat site - which is devoid of anything but platitudes for chumps.

A 29' "wakeboat" with zero details on it... for 200k+. Marketing strategy = trust me bro

Seems like their marketing team has given up! They used to host a bunch of groups (like us and boattest.com) who would then have material to post when they went live. We got nothing, and neither does boattest.

So yeah....trust Yamaha! Lol

Have you consider looking for a left over 2025? I don't believe much else changed on the SE model from '25 to '26 outside of color. I see the SD model in '26 moved from Wet Sounds to Hertz for audio.

2025 MSRP for the 252SE is $97k compared to $101.5k for the 2026.
On Boat Trader there are two FL dealers (Cycle Springs in Clearwater - Grey/White and Ride Now in Jacksonville - Blue/Brown) who have the 2025 SE listed between $91.5-92k.

The Blue/Brown combo looks really RICH in person!

I agree, the blue/brown combo is very, very nice but there are none in SoCal. The black/brown '26 is also very nice.

All the folks crying about minimal information are not getting the point. They have taken the Arctic Cat way of generating buzz before pre-ordering season. That may be a bad example, but AC stopped building more prototypes for shows, and instead went right to production to get units to dealers faster, to be sold. They limited the info, so that buyers would go to the dealers to get that info and put money down.

They give out enough information to get your attention, and then encourage you to go into the dealership and get the full story. At that time, you are a prime candidate to put a deposit down on a boat in their allocation. It's frustrating as a consumer, but it is what it is.

The info that was released was for the dealer show, so we should assume those that attended have the most info. All that was published online is teaser info and many times with typos and potential misinformation. For example the 29' boat with twin 1.9 engines. That's just an example.

Once the dealers prepare to take orders, get their allocation, they will be ready to disseminate the info. And Yamah will update their website. As far as the dealers and boat vloggers, they are for sure editing anything they can and will post soon. The guys like boattest.com etc, they have to get their hands on the pre-production units. And by the limited amount of those sorts of posts, we can only assume yamaha limited that availability this year.

I love my GP1800R & FX SVHO that I still have.

I loved my SX230... had it for years without issues.

The FSH 255 H was a pretty big disappointment.

Very good point. Their objective is to get you to the point of sale. The website is not a point of sale. Spending another $1k to update it and make it right is simply not worth it to them. No ROI.

Plus, I think we do need to consider that there may be things not yet worked out. Sure, they may have the molds, engines, etc. But things like the ballast they may not have settled yet (or may have supply chain issues affecting). The upside to this 'publish enough to get them to come in' method is that it gives you more time to work all of that out. Meanwhile, even if there is no info yet, you have gotten someone to come in to a dealer, provide contact information, so the dealer can then bug them to close the sale when a boat does show up (which may be the first time even the dealer knows what is *actually* on/in the boat).
