So I am running Islandjay.com with my brother, and am discovering that Shopify has some pretty insane limitations out of the box. My guess is its their way of prying more money out of their customers by forcing us to buy add on apps for things Shopify should do. A perfect example of this is showing discount prices on a product page vs having to look in the shopping cart. BASIC functionality!

So if you are a shopify member- what are your favorite add ons? We use judgeme reviews and they are great. Now hunting for that discount display app....there are so many and some have TERRIBLE reviews!

I'm in the ecomm biz and I did a very complete review of the Shopify platform for our websites. Shopify is amazing for users, and the built in payment system can be a +/- depending on how used to you are with negotiated rates. But it is SUPER 'ala carte if you want anything.

We ended up migrating to BigCommerce and have been "ok" with to renew our contract last year.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question, but I do feel your pain. There's no silver bullet unless you have a team of devs, or at least one dev that has access to good AI. And then, after all of that, you're still responsible for compliance, privacy, and bullsh*t ADA.
