2015 Yamaha 212x Ballast Issues

I recently purchased a 2015 212x. I am trying to figure out the ballast system still. I was required to removed the bags off at a boat inspection as I crossed state lines (western Montana). When I went to put both back, one is a bit tighter than the other it appears and I would just hate for it to pop off.

First question I had was that it appeared, there was some type of light silicone on the threads that were peeling off. Not sure if I need to do that again? The tighter I attempt make the fitting, it continues to rotate and pops off the thread, I do have it on a straight angle when tightening it down, not sure what would be giving me that issue?

Secondly, is there any after market parts for these stock ballast bags such as a quick connect to make it easier in the future?

Lastly, is there any way I can connect a hose to check if there are any leaks in the hoses for the ballast or does it need to be in the water to verify?

I can't answer any of your questions, but I have some similar ones...

I too have a 2015 212x and am having some issues with the ballast system. I recently discovered that the filler hoses to both bladders have broken clean off the bladder fittings. The blue plastic parts seemed to have cleanly sheared in two.

Have you found any good resources for the ballast system? I am looking for parts but also curious if there are any good resources out there. It doesn't help that I can't find any replacement parts for the 2015...the parts catalogs don't seem to have ballast systems for the 2015 model year. Did you run into that also?

Sorry to hear, are you in need of the blue plastic piece replaced?
