Ozempic linked to a doubling of sudden vision loss

Just did a simple search and this turned up. Seems like as long as it is used as originally intended as a Diabetes 2 treatment not too many issues, but the off label usage for weight loss is where the trouble begins. The original thing I found was for NAION or sudden vision loss as found by a couple of European doctors, apparently its happened here as well. As it says below, the lawsuit stems from Novo failing to adequately warn people of the possible side effects of this drug.

Looks like permanent stomach muscle paralysis, gallbladder disease, deep thrombosis 266% increased risk, pulmonary embelism and some sucidal tendencies can be added to the list.

I can tell you this....don't ever use the hallway ice machines in a motel/hotel. Cause that shit will give you gastric emptying. I'm on day 2 of that mistake!
I call that the full mud drum blow down… got that from some retired Navy BT’s…

That's pretty wild - what side effects have you seen?

Been pretty minimal. First month had some diarrhea, second month (first/only increase in dose), more of the same. For the next few months intermittent mild constipation was an issue, but that has since worn off and I'm regular like clockwork. Ever since, I might get one random pang of nausea a month that lasts 10-15 minutes, but that's it. Wife had the same experience, though a little more nauseous in the beginning than I was. Not really a side effect but an observation, but have all but lost interest in alcohol (it is in clinical trials now for that) - rarely have more than 4 drinks in a day over the weekends anymore.

I've just switched to drinking better booze since I'm only having a few, haha. Another con for Wisconsin, lots of cheese might lead to more toilet time on it. Not been an issue for me, but other people I know have reported it.

Funny - my wife’s hair stylist who was on this (and didn’t need to be) just told her she stopped because she thinks it was making her hair fall out.

Yeah, that's definitely a thing - any rapid weight loss will lead to some hair loss, but it isn't permanent. Mine thinned some, but since my rate of loss has tapered off, can see new growth too. Nothing visible at least for me, just noticing extra hair in the shower. Same thing happened when I dropped 90lbs on keto about a decade ago.
