Hello,

Newish owner here. I've had a 2004 LX210 for about a year and pulled the impeller assemblies about a month ago to grease the cones and get a better look at things. Based on my limited knowledge, the impellers looked pretty good, however, all of the impeller duct stators were damaged with the exception of two (image below). And the damage appears to be pretty uniform.

My questions are:
  1. What would cause this damage without damaging the impellers (assuming the impellers are original)?
  2. What affect would this damage have on performance?
Thanks in advance!

I could be wrong, but because the ducts are past the point of the impellers in the directional flow of water, I think you're not going to have any significant performance issues. Do you ever feel like the motors are "doing a burnout" when punching the throttle?

Thanks for the feedback. I was having some occasional cavitation and / or ventilation issues under acceleration from a stand still which was part of the reason I pulled things apart. There were some gaps in the jet pump sealant that I patched up which seems to have improved things.

More than likely that damage was caused by rocks being ingested. Impellers can be repaired by one of two companies I know of and they wouldn’t look like it and or they could be new impellers.
