This weekend i took the boat out , i got together with @Lou4 and @242YLS , i took them for a ride on my boat on the gulf, we had 3 to 4 ft chop. To make the story short after 25 minutes of riding on the gulf with.the.tabs.half way down and the boat not even moving , just a very nice ride like if we had no wind at all doing 40 miles, they were speechless. They couldn't belive it how much of a difference and comfortable ride it was having the taps with out getting beat up . They both are ordering taps for there boats.... One's again , i dont know why in the heck i didnt get the taps sooner... it is not just a bit of a differences , it is a huge.night and.day difference.. my boat its a completely different boat , i cant belive how nice of a ride we had this weekend.regardless of the sea conditions.

I have LectroTabs, Isaac has Lenco. They are similar products. LectroTab was easy to work with and built custom tabs for a packaged product price. Here are a couple of threads on their products

Have you read the Preparing For Bimini Thread?

If you have ballast please make sure it is empty and if possible disconnect power from the pump(s). Accidentally filling the ballast bags contributed to the swamping of a boat in 2015.

I have the twin 200's as well. I do have the ballast, but I've closed the intake valves that fill the bags. I don't have the trim tabs, but the only thing the trim tabs do is keep the bow down and on this trip (as I've read) you want the bow to be up. Once we get a date marked on the calendar, I'll prepare more, but right now it's still almost a year out. I have to find boat mates still as my wife isn't too keen on getting out that far. I'll probably put her on a plane or the ferry. I've got a few sons that would probably make the adventure with me.

Roger that, everyone seems to be saying trim tabs are a must have, but I've had the boat out in the gulf in some weather, and hadn't had issues but I wonder if I am missing out or a much better ride with them?

I was trying to comment only to blackhawk as we had the same boats, I wanted his opinion and I've certainly read the preparing and am really excited about this adventure.

Wouldn't say trim tabs are a must have.. but they will contribute highly to your comfort on a rough crossing
