Anyone hitting lake Wylie in SC/NC border this weekend? Will be there running around.. hitting the sand bar, then T-bones in a 14 242 l/s

I won't be at Lake Wylie but I will be near by on Saturday. The wife and I are doing Slide the City in Fort Mill, SC, http://www.slidethecity.com/ . Maybe next time it will work out that I can make it.

That looks awesome.

Slide the city looks cool, but I bet it is crowded as all get out.

For that very reason I went with the VIP package which allows us to slide 1 hour before everyone else and 1 after everyone else. The wife and I will get there early and side with the VIP's and then see how it is with the crowd to determine how long we stay.

I will be out... we go to the southern sandbar (down little Allison Creek). I am out every weekend

I will be out as well. We will try to make it down to the SC sandbar.

@jlcj7 did I see you out there Memorial day weekend? Saturday I think it was.

@andy07sx230ho That was in Raleigh last weekend. Didn;t make it but sounded fun. They had it downtown the same time as an Ironman event. Too many people crowded into downtown with too many closed streets for the bike and running part of it.

Can;t wait to hear more about it.

Probably, I was out both Saturday and Sunday.
I had my wife and 2 small kids (and i think my mother was with us, cant remember)

yea we were at ebenezer for the weekend, went up to the big sandbar past tbones for a while... but didnt pack lunches so when folks started cooking and the scents were coming across us... the girls got hungry and it was time to roll out... sadly.. had volleyball setup and everything.. but never got games going. later that day we left the parents at their camper and went down to allison creek sandbar... that was crazy.. probably like 50 boats all tied up together. but the bro in law said that was adult only type of a place and we had a couple youngins on the boat with us, so we just left and went back to goat island for a few, then up another cove swimming for a while... did notice quite a few yamaha's out there... nice lake... lil choppy tho... every other lake we go to i realize how nice and un crowded lake wateree is...

We ended up not making it out on Saturday but did Sunday. On the weekends the lake is definitely rough on the main channel. Little Allison sandbar is def the party sand bar for sure. The other sand bar past T bones on the main channel gets a lot of boat traffic. I live right across from T Bones on the NC side where the marina is.

How about some pictures of these sandbars and stuff? I'm about 3 hours away and am looking for lakes to go visit for weekend getaways.

Not the best pics, just what i have on my phone but here is some of Lake Wylie...

The 1st pic is of Niven Landing (public boat launch)... the 2nd is the south sandbar down Little Allison Creek.

This pic os of one of my favorite coves off Big Allison Creekcove1.jpg

I will take more pics next time i am out of the north sandbar and a better pic of the south sandbar. There are also many smaller islands and other places people go. My profile pic is of Goat island which is a fun place to go as well...

Are there any hotels etc with a marina? I'm thinking of a long weekend to check out a new to me location.
