my starboard throttle is tight moving from forward to reverse. Other then that it's fine. Is the adjustable? I know about the screw on the handle but that doesn't effect the fwd rev motion. Possibly something that needs oil?

also look at your jet and bucket and make sure nothing is stuck back there, maybe remove the cable and make sure you can move the bucket by hand to help narrow down the problem

It started this when I was getting it ready for the season. Was loose when I put the cover on the boat and tight when I pulled it off. Taking the family of 10 out tomorrow. Gonna be a packed boat. I'll have more time next week to take it apart if that's my only option

Possible bad reverse cable. Push button on side of throttle in and see if it makes it easier. If so replace both reverse cables.

Check as @Scottintexas says first. Many guys have picked up debris in their gates and bind up.

These options will take 5 minutes to check.

Bad reverse cable, after you make sure there's no debris in gate.

Usually not, some guys have been able to loosen it with penetrating oil on the gate end. The results are limited and not long lasting.

Your a salt water boater so I don't see any hope in lubrication. The cable rusts up and seizes to the outer sheath.

Thank you so much. I was looking on eBay and thought it was gonna be 115. Saved me a bunch of money.

Great stuff, gentlemen.

Cheers!

Yeah....they are $40 cables that Yamaha marks waaaaay up!
