Have fun! Someday I'll get to bring my boat down there. Someday......

@Bill D @blacksapphirez - Guys I would love to join.... but I will be at work starting that Wednesday, 4/12.

I will be on the water the weekend before that. Hope to get to meet up with ya'll sometime this summer. Still talking the wife into taking the boat up to Lake Martin.

SON OF A B*TCH!!!!

I just looked at my calendar and realized that I'm going to miss out on the Blue Angles this year too.
We had an absolute blast doing that last summer.

Hope you guys can come down for it - it is WELL worth the trip!!

Details?? I would like to drag my boat down that way one day. I really want to take it to the Destin area and hang out at Crab Island.

The Pensacola Air Show will be on July 8th this year. People will camp in their boats over night to get to stay in the lagoons. (I wouldn't)
Instead we like the Gulf side. It's only about 30-40 ft of water and is absolutely beautiful. Bring your floats and enjoy the show. Just make sure you have enough rope to hold bottom.

VRBO.com has some nice rentals in that general area (Pensacola - Destin) that offer boat slips with your stay. Not the cheapest, but they would place you and your boat right in the middle of the action.

@MattFX4 - Crab Island is our favorite hang out spot. My signature pic was taken there last summer. We saw the Blue Angels in July from the water. Definitely a neat experience. We put in at Navarre Beach and took the intra-coastal waterway to Pensacola.

My profile pic and my signature pic are from Crab Island. You'd love it here @MattFX4 . But on July 08th, I'll be taking the ICW from Destin to Pensacola for Blue Angels (like mentioned above). Great experience. Even better on the boat.

May have to join you from Destin to Pensacola. Navarre was a long for us. Destin is a lot closer to us and would let us spend more time on the boat.

Hey @blackhawkpilot nice boat! I remember you were boatless when you lived in Virginia. Good to see you have an awesome boat.

So whos going to join us? 2 weeks away. There's a public ramp at the end of marina rd in orange beach.

I had to trip over to Orange Beach last week (in the Jeep, not the boat). Went to look at a Yamaha waverunner on Marina Road. Hadn't been to Orange Beach in a while. I was impressed.

There is also another public ramp at Cotton Bayou which @Westbeach Bum is familiar with. Very wide and well light I believe, but he is the resident expert.
We put in at the top of Wolf Bay - gives us more time in the boat = less driving time.

When yall come down I would recommend using the new beach express at exit #49. Will cost you a few bucks at the bridge ($6-7) but you wont have to deal with the terrible traffic on Hwy59 and all the small towns.

Wish I could join, but I'll be at work :meh:

@blacksapphirez The ramp at the end of Marina rd is Boggy Point ramp. You have to get there very early to get a parking space. The fishermen take most of them before the suns up. The residents along Marina Rd will call the local PD if you park on the side of the road. CottonBayou has more spaces but it fills up not long after Boggy Point. If you launch at Cotton Bayou, just know it's idle speed all the way to Robinson Island. Both are very nice andwell maintained concrete launches. We should be at the island that weekend.
