I don't think this is supposed to happen. Seems to be a design flaw to me where the back pole is too tall and creates an area for water to pool. It was ratcheted down tight, but the weight of the water pulled the strap over the lip. Now the cover is also stretched. Sorry the photos are rotated. Not sure why.

Ratchets not tight enough? Pole strap looks loose in the middle. Haven't had any rain on mine yet... It usually sits in covered storage. Some people use some kind of inflatable ball instead of the poles.

Try to move the pole forward and raise it above the level of the windshield or just raise the pole above the level of the windshield so that there are no low spots where water can pool.

if the pole does not telescope or telescope high enough, put a 4”x4”x4” under it and a cloth or mat under the wood so it doesn’t damage the seadeck.

It was tight, but the weight of the water loosened it. I feel like it is too high, not too low. If I lower the pole, it all runs off the back...mostly.

That looks good. Did you cut the pole? Can't remember if it is adjustable.

It is telescoping, so I just lowered it. I'll need to drill a hole to get it to stop in the right spot. Also collecting a lot of water on the Bimini in spite of the grommet in the middle. I think there needs to be more than one.

I wonder if lowering the front of the Bimini would help shed water. There is that adjustment knob to raise and lower the front of the Bimini.

I was on the water and had a 20 minute downpour and the Bimini didn't seem to pool any water while it was in the highest setting.

Are you saying your pole straps were tight? My pole straps are really tight, which keeps it from pooling.

Yes, they were tight, but the weight of the water loosened them. There is a bit of a pocket that is created when the pole is fully extended and we got a really heavy downpour.

I had it in the higher setting originally and it collected even more water on the other side of the grommet.

Looking at mine the rear pole appears to be too high. I can see where water could pool exactly where yours did. I may be drilling a hole in my pole! Lol

I also pulled my seats forward to help with the support and create less area for water to pool.

I think the seam creates part of the issue. @Yamaha should have put the seam down the center instead of across from side to side.

New hole drilled. We will see how well this works.

Lowering the pole seems to work.PXL_20210620_123305574.jpg
