BRP Engines powering Iranian built drones used by Russia to attack the Ukraine

I never would have expected a Rotax engine to be on the ITAR list. I always thought it was just items like red dot sights, thermal imaging devices, body armor etc. Turns out the ITAR list, is basically anything an American boy grew up wanting to obtain.

Will be hard to completely stop the flow of parts to Iran, but looking up the serial number of the engine they'll sure be able to trace the original point of purchase and start a game of cat and mouse. Of course there is no incentive in BRP looking really hard, other than the PR hit that they might take if this stays in the news, or keeps coming up. Not sure how many of these drones Iran is making, but if double or triple digits, it would be hard to source that many engines if BRP has any sort of supply chain automation and tracking worth a damn.
