Yes, EVERYONE wants a service manual. Service manuals are copyrighted and provided to dealers. They are NOT legal to share on forums such as this one.

Do people share them anyways? Yep. If you do, please keep it off the forum, otherwise it will be taken down. We want to protect the forum here. Nobody wants to lose it. Besides, you can likely find it on many other sites, Facebook, or purchase it from various sources.

When purchasing the service manuals from Yamaha, they are either online ebooks (that you either only have 30 or 365 days to access), or a hardcopy. Is there a way to legally purchase and convert to a PDF? Always have my phone with me!

I can totally appreciate that you guys have Yamahas, but to be clear, this is the Scarab section of the forum. The forum is already dominated by Yamaha, which is fine since the market is much bigger, but can we keep this directed at Scarab please? lol We don't take a lot of space on the forum relatively speaking, but we do like to keep our little space.

Anyone else think an AI bot got into this forum with all these new "read this!" posts?! LOL

I wish I was. Could have saved myself a few hours last night. lol I keep writing the same things over and over. Figured it was time to make some sticky posts. :)

I like it - showing the Scarab peeps some love.

sorry Luc. I read your stuff even though it's Scarab, and i learn. Plus, if someone searches on "service manual" because they want to buy one, they're going to get to this thread pretty early in the search. Seemed appropriate to have an easy answer regardless of what brand they wanted.

I totally understand and like to read about all kinds of things boat related. But you have to realize, even the main page of the forum, if you look at generic stickied posts like "FAQ-CHECK HERE FOR YOUR ANSWER FIRST" (FAQ-CHECK HERE FOR YOUR ANSWER FIRST!), you'll quickly note there is nothing in the title about Yamaha but the content is entirely Yamaha centric. This is fine like I said since the market is much bigger. Many of the posts are like this on the main pages. All assuming Yamaha.

But consequently, the Scarab section is designed to be Scarab centric. Otherwise Scarab owners will stop using it because it bcomes dominated like the rest of the forum by Yamaha. It's our little secluded spot on the forum. lol So I'm holding on for dear life on this one.

Unless everyone wants to start posting brand specific titles. "YAMAH-FAQ-CHECK HERE FOR YOUR ANSWER FIRST" and "SCARAB-Want a Service Manual? Read This!".

Got it. Feel free to delete my post with the link. I've posted the same link in other threads in the past, since folks struggle to find that page.

I might be an outlier here, but i literally never look at the forum category unless i happen to be starting a new thread and want to make sure i put it in the right place. I scroll through "new posts" and read what's interesting.

there are other forums i participate in (less active and more boring than this one), and i pay attention to their categories. But here, it all seems potentially useful and entertaining so i don't really filter anything out.

No need to delete. I bet other Yamaha people will find it and use it. lol Like you said...

From the Scarab perspective, if a Scarab person posts on the main page, we usually get very few Scarab owners responding because many Scarab owners don't follow the main pages since it's 95% Yamaha. Mind you, Yamaha owners (and other brands) very well could have useful info. But in most cases, Scarab owners are looking for other Scarab owners for boat specific info. So I think from our perspective, at least for me, most of us pay extra special attention to this section. If the main page was pretty spread out on brands, then yeah, we'd be like you in not caring.

With all that said, I do subcribe to notifications from the main page as well because like you, I find learning about jet boats in general useful, regardless of the brand.
